Who we are

This policy explains how the Walpat iPhone app (“Walpat”, “we”, “us”) handles information. It applies to the app and to this website, walpat.app. If you have questions, contact us at support@walpat.app.

Information you put into Walpat

Walpat stores the budget information you enter — such as your currency, budget cycle, categories, limits, transactions, income and app settings.

• Where it's stored: on your iPhone, and synced through your private iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit, so it can move with you to a new device.
• Who can see it: only you. We don't run servers that receive your budget or transaction data, and we can't access your iCloud data.
• Deleting it: delete transactions or categories in the app, delete the app, or manage Walpat's data in your iCloud settings.

No account and no bank login

You don't need to sign up to use Walpat, and Walpat never asks for your banking username or password. Walpat does not connect to your bank today. If we add bank sync in the future, it will be optional and we'll update this policy before it launches.

On-device AI

Smart Import, SMS tracking, Ask Walpat, written summaries and AI-written nudges use Apple Intelligence on your iPhone (Apple's on-device Foundation Models). The receipts, screenshots, text and transactions these features read are processed on your device and are not sent to us or to a cloud AI service.

Text messages and Apple Pay

Walpat cannot read your text messages — iOS doesn't allow it. If you choose to set up Instant Tracking, an iOS Shortcuts automation that you create passes a bank alert or Wallet payment to Walpat when it happens. You control the automation and can turn it off at any time in the Shortcuts app.

Camera and photos

Walpat asks for camera or photo access only when you use Smart Import or Share to Walpat, and only reads the images you choose. Images are processed on your device and are not uploaded.

Analytics (opt-in)

During setup Walpat asks whether you'd like to share anonymous usage data. If you say yes, Walpat sends events such as which screens are opened and which features are used to Google Analytics for Firebase. These events don't include your transactions, amounts, merchant names or category names. All advertising uses are switched off. You can turn analytics off at any time in Settings, which also clears the analytics data stored on your device.

If you say no, no analytics are sent.

Other services Walpat contacts

• Exchange rates. To convert currencies, Walpat downloads public exchange-rate files from an open currency API (served through jsDelivr and Cloudflare). The request contains only a currency code.
• Profile picture. Walpat shows a generated avatar fetched from an avatar service using a random identifier created on your device. It does not include your name, email or financial data.
• Apple. Purchases, subscriptions, iCloud sync, Siri, Shortcuts and Apple Intelligence are provided by Apple and covered by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Like any internet request, these services may see your device's IP address.

Purchases

Walpat Pro is sold through the App Store. Apple processes your payment; we never see your card or payment details. We receive only the information Apple provides to confirm that a purchase is active.

Tracking and advertising

Walpat does not show ads, does not track you across other apps or websites, and does not sell your data.

Children

Walpat is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.

Your choices and rights

Because your budget data lives on your device and in your iCloud, you can view, edit, export or delete it yourself at any time. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access or delete personal data held about you; for any request, email support@walpat.app.

Changes to this policy

If we change how Walpat handles information, we'll update this page and the date at the top. Significant changes will also be announced in the app.
